1. The short version
You can browse every costume guide and use both interactive widgets without creating an account or submitting personal information to this website. The project contains no comment system, checkout, registration flow, analytics script, or advertising tag.
The only browser-based preference created by these files is a local storage entry that remembers whether you dismissed the storage notice. Your costume selections and checklist progress are temporary page state; they are not transmitted to the studio.
2. Local browser storage
When you select “Got it — let’s make something,” the site attempts to save a single preference with the key hh_closet_note_6r2m9 and the value seen. On later visits, that preference lets the script remove the notice instead of showing it again.
- The entry does not contain your name, email address, location, or costume choices.
- It is stored by your browser on your device rather than sent to a Hem & Howl database.
- If your browser blocks local storage, the notice can still be dismissed for the current page view.
- This static project does not set advertising cookies or use a cookie-based identifier.
3. What the widgets remember
The Closet Compass and Party Countdown run entirely in the page with JavaScript. Button selections update text and visual states already on your device. The site does not send those selections to a server.
Closet Compass
Your anchor item, mood, and making window remain only as temporary selections until you refresh or leave the page. They are not added to local storage.
Party Countdown
Your selected time window and checked-off steps also remain temporary. Resetting the checklist, changing the time, refreshing, or closing the page can clear that progress.
4. If you email the studio
Email links open your chosen mail application. If you decide to send a message, you choose what to include. We will receive the sender address, message contents, and any details or attachments you deliberately provide.
We use reader messages to respond, consider corrections, and improve the guides. Please do not send sensitive personal documents, payment details, or information about another person without permission. A message is not required to use the site.
Studio email: hemandhowl.desk@gmail.com.
5. Services, hosting, and retention
The supplied website files do not load third-party fonts, tracking pixels, embedded videos, social widgets, or external scripts. All illustrations, styles, and behavioral code are local to the project.
If these files are placed on a public host, that host may process ordinary technical request logs, such as an IP address, browser type, requested file, and timestamp, to deliver and protect the site. The host’s own practices and retention periods would apply to those logs.
Reader emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, a correction, or an editorial record. You may ask us to delete a message thread, subject to any record we genuinely need to keep.
6. Your privacy choices
You can clear the site’s stored preference through your browser’s site-data controls. You can also block local storage; the guides will remain readable, although the notice may reappear.
- Browse without emailing or identifying yourself to the studio.
- Clear local site data at any time through your browser.
- Ask what you have previously sent us by email.
- Request a correction or deletion of your email correspondence.
Browser controls vary by device and version, so use your browser’s own help documentation for exact steps.
7. Questions and policy changes
We may revise this policy when the site’s features or reader practices change. A revised version will appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date. We will not describe a feature as collecting no information if that behavior has changed.
Questions about this policy or a message you sent can be directed to hemandhowl.desk@gmail.com. You can also visit the studio contact page for our editorial details.
