1. Using the site
These reader terms apply to your access to the Hem & Howl website, including its costume tutorials, illustrations, policy pages, and browser-based widgets. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.
You must be able to understand and accept these terms to enter this agreement. Younger makers are welcome to enjoy the ideas with a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult who can guide tool use and costume fit.
2. Informational and creative purpose
Hem & Howl publishes general craft inspiration and informational tutorials. The content is not a substitute for professional instruction, product-specific directions, or advice tailored to your materials, space, tools, or circumstances.
Time estimates are editorial approximations, not guarantees. Your results may differ because of material thickness, fasteners, tool experience, fit, weather, and the particular object you are transforming.
3. Your making choices
You are responsible for deciding whether a project is appropriate, obtaining materials lawfully, supervising younger makers, and checking the finished costume before use. Stop and adjust any build that restricts sight, breathing, hearing, or comfortable movement.
Our safety and editorial disclaimer forms part of these terms. It highlights adult assistance, tool handling, visibility, weather, and outdoor considerations, but it cannot anticipate every situation.
No content on the site promises injury-free crafting or a particular outcome. Use practical judgment and choose a simpler idea when conditions call for one.
4. Our creative content
The Hem & Howl name, original article text, illustrations, logo, and page design are protected creative materials. We give you permission to view them and use the ideas to make costumes for personal, household, classroom, or community dress-up.
You may not republish the site as your own, sell copies of the illustrations or articles, scrape the content for redistribution, or remove attribution from shared excerpts. A brief quotation with clear credit is welcome; wholesale reproduction is not.
Your own finished costume is yours to enjoy and photograph. You do not need our permission to show friends what you made.
5. Acceptable use
Please use the site without interfering with other readers or the systems that deliver it. In particular, do not:
- Attempt to introduce malicious code, disrupt access, or probe the site without authorization.
- Misrepresent the studio, impersonate a reader, or use our material to promote deception.
- Use the contact address for unlawful, abusive, or bulk unsolicited messages.
- Copy the site in a way that violates these terms or applicable law.
The interactive widgets are provided for personal planning. They do not create accounts, process purchases, or accept uploaded material.
6. Availability, accuracy, and changes
We aim for clear, useful, and accurate guides, but errors can happen. Tutorials may be clarified, reorganized, or retired as we test ideas and receive reader feedback. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every material remains easy to find.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided on an “as available” basis for general information. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update these terms as the site evolves. The date above identifies the current version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
